Biography
Laura, who prefers going by their middle name Lizbeth, was originally a hospitality major until hearing the heartfelt stories a professor told about nutrition counseling prompting them to graduate in dietetics. After graduation, they completed their internship with the Department of Health at Puerto Rico and then accept an inpatient clinical dietitian role in Texarkana, TX where they worked for two years gaining experience in ICU, COVID/respiratory, Cardiac, Orthopedic, NICU, and Geropsychology populations. Most recently, they gained ~1 more year of inpatient experience as the inpatient dietitian for Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital and the orthopedics units at BUMC. It has been a long journey, but Lizbeth is sure they are exactly where they are meant to be. They are excited to learn all of your stories via nutritional counseling and to find out what motivates and works for you. This job is the dream. You bring the willingness to learn and desire to improve your life through nutrition and lifestyle choices, and Lizbeth will guide you through those difficult initial steps until you are able to stand on your own.
