Biography
Lee Nunn has always had a strong foundation in the sciences, with experience in both teaching and research. Over time, he realized he wanted to apply that knowledge in a more direct, patient-centered way. As a people-oriented person, he transitioned into clinical nutrition which allowed him to combine his background in biochemistry with meaningful, face-to-face patient care. Becoming a registered dietitian gave him the opportunity to make a tangible impact on individuals’ health in real time. What excites Lee most about clinical nutrition is the broad application of nutritional biochemistry at the clinical level. Nutrition touches nearly every disease state, so he is able to use science in a very practical, individualized way. He enjoys translating complex biochemical concepts into actionable strategies that patients can actually implement, whether it’s managing chronic conditions or optimizing overall health. His practice includes evidence-based medical nutrition therapy along with a strong focus on diabetes education and management. Lee works with patients to improve glycemic control through individualized nutrition strategies, carbohydrate management, and lifestyle modifications. This includes helping patients understand glucose patterns, use tools like continuous glucose monitors, and make sustainable changes that fit their daily lives. He also supports patients with related conditions such as kidney disease and post-surgical nutrition, ensuring care plans are both clinically effective and practical.
