Open heart surgery - refers to heart surgical procedures where the chest is opened, and the heart is stopped to repair or replace tissue, muscle, valves or arteries of the heart. Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital was also awarded three stars for isolated aortic valve replacement surgery (AVR), and AVR plus CABG surgery. The hospital is among the top 3% of all hospitals nationwide.
