Biography

You can expect our therapy sessions to feel conversational, flexible and collaborative. I'm invested in this work with you and approach it with genuine curiosity and care. We will focus on your needs in the present moment, while also working together to gain insight and create lasting change towards long term goals.

Why I Became A Therapist:

I became a therapist because I love collaborating with people from all walks of life, and building brighter visions of what is possible. I was first inspired by an art therapist who sparked a deep interest in self-discovery through creative practice. Later, I learned about my own ADHD brain and how neurodivergence impacts the ways people move through the world. I've always felt that our connection to each other matters most, and strive to provide that, to help others thrive in their communities. I've learned that therapy looks different for everyone. At times, there are major break-throughs, but it’s often the accumulation of tiny changes, and learning to sit with the questions that makes all the difference.

What can clients expect in their first interaction with me?

In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you to therapy and identify goals that are aligned with your values. We'll also focus on getting to know each other, and we'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I'm not big on giving therapy homework, but frequently provide various resources as offerings for you to have on hand if desired.

What’s my role in our work together?

I'm here to support you with building a deeper connection to your inner-knowing in order to create the changes you want in your life and in your relationship to yourself. I use a blend of relational and skills-based therapies to support my clients in navigating life stressors, difficult emotions, relationships, and meaning-making. I also provide EMDR, which is a trauma therapy. My approach to therapy is warm and conversational. An important part of my role is to be direct and to challenge you at times, and I do so while being rooted in the understanding that we are on the same team.

What do I want clients to take away from working with me?

Greater self-compassion and trust in their ability to make the decisions that are best for them.

What’s something I wish more people knew about therapy?

Therapists are people too, and often relate to your very real, human experiences. A good, therapeutic relationship can be the catalyst for the changes you want in your relationships outside the therapy space. Also, therapy can be fun! In my work I believe humor and creativity are essential.
