My approach is welcoming and purpose driven, aimed at normalizing the idea of therapy. Our sessions will introduce you to a new space where you do not have to be ... concerned with judgement for how you feel or how you express yourself. Here is where you'll find a safe place to become more aware of self, and learn new life practices that serve you, your values and your relationship goals. Why I Became A Therapist: Helping others has always been a part of my life. Throughout my life, my family exposed me to opportunities that taught me how I can effect positive changes in myself and in others. There is an exchange of positive energy and emotions when healthy change takes place, and I wanted to be a part of that change for others. For more than 10 years, I've developed the ability to get to the heart of the matter that individuals and couples bring to therapy. In doing so, I have been able to successfully partner with individuals and couples in healing from past trauma and to assist them in navigating a pathway to a more empowered and authentic life. What can clients expect in their first interaction with me? The first session is generally used for rapport building by way of you and I openly discussing the concerns and challenges you're facing. One request I'll have for you is to give thought to what you want to accomplish during your time in therapy. Your answer will help in creating a plan that is specific to who you are, and how to build the capacity to manage your life the way you truly desire. What’s my role in our work together? In this helping relationship, my role is to provide you with stress management skills, problem solving skills and help you become more aware of self. What do I want clients to take away from working with me? My objective is to empower clients to be able to manage life’s stressors with confidence, utilizing personal, social and professional resources available to them. What’s something I wish more people knew about therapy? I want my clients to know that therapy is often not a place where your breakthrough will come from learning something you never knew. However, therapy is a place where your breakthrough usually comes from what you have known all along but have been ignoring. View More |
