The only program of its kind in North Texas, the Neuroendocrine Cancer Research and Treatment Center at Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center, an integral part of Baylor University Medical Center, combines the expertise of a multidisciplinary physician team on the Baylor medical staff to provide a premier destination for the diagnosis, evaluation, research and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors.
The Oncology Evaluation and Treatment Center is specifically for cancer patients receiving care at Baylor University Medical Center. Staff are trained and knowledgeable about the specific issues, symptoms and side effects related to cancer and its treatments.
The center provides care for cancer patients in need of urgent, but not emergency care, during weekday evening hours and 24/7 on weekends, in a location separate from emergency rooms to help reduce exposure to contagious diseases from others. To receive care at the OETC, patients must contact their oncologist and he/she will contact the center to make arrangements for their arrival.
Cancer patients in need of emergency medical care should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
