We synchronize medical resources to help busy individuals achieve and maintain optimal health and fitness goals — and save valuable time. All services are coordinated during conveniently scheduled annual office visits.

Physical Diagnostic Assessment

Sports Academy’s performance training philosophy is informed by the Diagnostic process, allowing for curated training programs to address individualized metrics, needs and goals.

Programming will be tailored to match the desired objectives of the participant with a take-home app to allow for remote performance programming.

Recovery & Wellness

Normatec Compression Therapy – Dynamic air compression technology to help increase blood flow and circulation, promote healing and recovery, and decrease muscle fatigue after acute exercise.

HyperIce Percussion Therapy – Benefits include accelerated warmup and recovery, improved range of motion and flexibility, reduced muscle soreness and stiffness, and enhanced muscle performance.

Massage or Manual Therapy – Soft tissue work by either our licensed manual therapist (Mike Oviedo) or our massage therapist (Brad Allen), depending on the desire of the participant and the recommendation of the strength and conditioning staff.

Hot/Cold Contrast Therapy – A series of brief, repeated intervals alternating between warm and cold temperatures for the purpose of lessening muscle fatigue and decreasing pain, swelling and lactic acid buildup following exercise.

Physician specialist referral

In the event your comprehensive medical examination reveals a need for additional testing and/or treatment, your coordinator can help arrange referrals for you if you choose not to go through your primary care provider. (Please be aware that some insurance plans do require you to go through your primary care provider or services may not be covered.)

If you do not have a primary care provider, your coordinator will help facilitate appointments for you with physician specialists who are members of the medical staff of Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health.

Although physician specialist referrals are provided as a courtesy to you, please note that any fees incurred as a result of your physician specialist referrals and/or any additional medical tests and/or treatment are not included as part of your Personal EDGE assessment fee.

In the event your comprehensive medical examination reveals a need for additional testing and/or treatment, your coordinator can help arrange referrals for you if you choose not to go through your primary care provider. We offer discounts for spouses

We offer a 10 percent discount to spouses who schedule assessments during the same 90-day period. In the event your spouse would like to schedule an appointment, please inform your coordinator when scheduling your appointment.

Accepted payments

Payment is due at the time of service. For your convenience, we accept corporate and personal checks, as well as most major credit cards.

Our assessments typically are not covered by health insurance providers. Personal EDGE® does not file insurance claims or provide insurance coding.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 72 hours in advance to avoid a $350 cancellation fee.
