Locations of Adam O'Brien, MD

Dr. O’Brien is a native Texan and orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. He is from west Texas and trained at some of the top institutions across ... the country. During his specialty training which focused on arthroscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, he worked with all levels of athletes including the Houston Texans, Rockets, Astros, Dynamo, and the University of Houston Athletics.

Although he has expertise in sports medicine, he also focuses on general orthopedics including acute or chronic knee, shoulder and hip problems, fracture care, and pediatric injuries. While he has cared for athletes of the highest level, he receives the same satisfaction in caring for the weekend warrior.

Dr. O’Brien also offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for a variety of conditions to accelerate healing in a specific area.  Known for their clotting abilities, platelets also contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area.

Outside of the OR, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and Labrador. They love outdoor activities and attending Baylor sporting events. Dr. O’Brien especially enjoys hiking, fly fishing and skiing.

He is also proud to serve as team physician for athletes at Manor and Taylor high schools.

Insurances accepted

Baylor Scott & White has established agreements with several types of insurance to ensure your health needs are covered.

Insurance listings are subject to change without prior notice. Please call your physician's office or your health or insurance plan to verify coverage information prior to scheduling your visit or procedure. Not all members participating in contracted networks have "in network" access. In network participation may change from time to time without prior notice. Independent providers (which could include, for example only, anesthesiologists, radiologists, pathologists, emergency medicine physicians, advance practice professionals, and other independent providers of health care services) may deliver part of your care, and such providers may be considered out-of-network on your health and insurance plans even if the Facility may be considered in network. If you desire additional information as to the providers who may be involved in providing your care, you can either ask your treating provider (who may know some of the specialists or groups who could be involved) or you can request a list of Facility-based physician groups by calling the following toll free number: (877) 810-0372. This list is updated annually and is subject to change without prior notice
