Bilal Mahmood, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in adult hip and knee reconstruction and joint replacement surgery. Serving patients in Dallas and Sunnyvale, he specializes in hip replacement, knee replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement and advanced treatment options for arthritis, injury and complex joint conditions.
Dr. Mahmood's areas of expertise include anterior hip replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement, hip resurfacing, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, minimally invasive joint replacement, same-day joint replacement and revision joint replacement surgery. He also treats patients with hip and knee arthritis, osteonecrosis, hip dysplasia, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and complex hip and knee deformities.
Using advanced technology and evidence-based techniques, Dr. Mahmood develops personalized treatment plans focused on reducing pain, restoring mobility and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy. His expertise in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive joint replacement techniques allows many patients to experience faster recovery and improved outcomes.

Outside of work, Dr. Mahmood enjoys spending time with his wife and children. His hobbies include alpine skiing, baseball, hockey, biking and travel.
