Doug Smith, DO, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon specializing in the treatment of fractures, traumatic injuries and post-traumatic reconstruction. He sees patients in Grapevine, Texas, providing expert care for complex orthopedic injuries, fracture management and trauma-related conditions.
Dr. Smith has extensive experience caring for patients with multiple traumatic injuries (polytrauma), complex fractures, post-traumatic arthritis and conditions requiring orthopedic reconstruction. His clinical interests include orthopedic trauma surgery, fracture care, joint reconstruction and post-traumatic reconstruction, with a focus on helping patients regain mobility, function and quality of life through advanced surgical techniques and personalized treatment plans.
Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He went on to complete fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at the University of Oklahoma. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing soccer, snowboarding, enjoying the outdoors and following professional sports.
