Biography

Dr. Pagenkopf is a board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon with professional interests in acute orthopedic trauma, including pelvis, acetabulum and periarticular fracture fixation. He has expertise in complications of orthopedic trauma, including treatment of nonunions and malunions.


Dr. Pagenkopf has authored multiple journal articles and textbook chapters and lectured internationally on the topic of orthopedic trauma.

He is a retired Navy Captain, having served 34 years as a Navy adversary pilot, aeronautical engineer, TOPGUN instructor, flight surgeon and combat-experienced orthopedic trauma surgeon. When not working, he enjoys bicycling and traveling.
D Magazine has named Baylor Scott & White Orthopedics the "Face of Orthopedics" for 2026.
