Jennifer Y. Chu, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon who sees patients in Dallas and Plano. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow and upper extremity, including sports injuries, arthritis, nerve compression syndromes, fractures, tendon injuries, congenital hand conditions and complex trauma. Her expertise includes carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, wrist and elbow arthroscopy, reconstructive microsurgery, fracture care and minimally invasive nerve release procedures.
Dr. Chu is dedicated to helping patients relieve pain, restore function and regain independence through personalized treatment plans tailored to their goals and lifestyle. She provides both non-surgical and surgical treatment options for a wide range of hand and upper extremity conditions, utilizing advanced techniques to optimize recovery and outcomes.
A native of the Dallas area, Dr. Chu earned her undergraduate and master's degrees from Stanford University, graduating with honors and distinction in Biological Sciences and English. She received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was awarded a full-tuition merit scholarship and inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Rochester before pursuing advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hamot.
Dr. Chu is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. She has been consistently recognized by D Magazine as a Best Doctor in Collin County and
