Johelin De Freitas Hernandez, MD  chose a career in health care because she wanted a career centered on compassion, connection and making a meaningful difference in people's lives.


She has always been passionate about helping children and supporting families through every stage of growth and development. Pediatrics allows her to combine science, kindness  and advocacy while building meaningful long-term relationships with patients and their families. What excites Dr. Freitas Hernandez  most about Pediatrics is the opportunity to make a lasting impact early in a child's life, from preventive care to guiding parents and children through complex medical and developmental challenges.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, fitness classes, spending time with family, and exploring wellness. She also loves music and finding ways to maintain balance between a busy professional and personal life.
