Aquatics therapy is one way to restore your strength and flexibility with the benefits of water.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – White Rock collaborates with the Arthritis Foundation to conduct the Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program. This recreational exercise program is designed to accommodate the abilities of individuals with arthritis and other related diseases.
These programs are
taught in a group setting with activities and exercises to:
- Encourage self care
- Provide social interaction
- Improve muscular strength, endurance and flexibility
- Maintain independence
- Manage pain
- Relieve symptoms of arthritis
Program instructors are trained to develop classes to meet the emotional, mental, physical, and social needs of the person with arthritis. Instead of simply meeting the symptoms of arthritis, our classes and education focus on wellness and a healthy lifestyle for the whole person. Joint protection, energy conservation, and relaxation are included in each class to offer strategies for symptom management and self-sufficiency.
We invite you to jump in and join today.
