Colorectal Surgery

Our colorectal surgeons specialize in the management of rectal and colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and benign colorectal and anorectal disease, offering  comprehensive and compassionate care.

The colon and rectal surgeons here specialize in minimally-invasive techniques for surgical resection and support an enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) program that shortens hospital admission and total recovery time after surgery compared to traditional treatment. We also offer colonoscopy services for colon cancer prevention, screening and surveillance.

Ear, nose and throat

Our otolaryngologists or ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialists diagnose, manage, and treat a variety of conditions affecting parts and soft tissues of the head and neck, including:

Acute and chronic infections of the external middle and inner ear 

• Allergies
• Balancing disorders 
• Benign and malignant tumors of the temporal bone ear canal and auricle 
• Cholesteatoma
• Chronic colds
• Deafness
• Influenza
• Nasal polyps
• Nasal septum issues
• Otosclerosis
• Sleep apnea

• Stenosis of the ear canal
• Tumors of the temporal bone and base of the skull

Laryngology

Laryngology is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats issues with the larynx, or voice box.  The larynx is where your vocal cords are located to help you swallow, make sounds, and speak.  Since it is located at the entrance to the windpipe, it also plays an important role in breathing.

Laryngologists treat a range of diseases and conditions including:

• Vocal cord injuries like overuse or misusing your voice
• Noncancerous (benign) growths on vocal cords 
• Precancerous or cancerous growths
• Autoimmune diseases that affect speaking/breathing
• Inflammatory or infectious conditions
• Conditions of the airway
• Neurologic conditions of the brain or nervous system that affect speaking/breathing
• Complications from intubation

Emergency care

Our emergency care services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and treat major emergency conditions, including:

• Allergic reaction (hives, swelling)
• Animal, snake, or human bites 
• Broken bones 
• Blue or purple color to lips, skin, or nail beds 
• Chest or stomach pain or pressure 
• Coughing up blood
• Difficulty breathing 
• Fainting
• Heart attack
• Puncture wounds 
• Seizure
• Severe bleeding or bleeding that does not stop with direct pressure
• Severe burns or burns on the face 
• Severe pain or loss of motion or sensation anywhere in the body
• Shortness of breath
• Stroke
• Sudden dizziness, weakness, or change in vision
• Trauma
• Trouble breathing, swallowing or wheezing

The eye doctors on our team include ophthalmologists and optometrists on the medical staff. Some of the eye care services we offer include:

Interventional cardiology

Interventional cardiology is a specialized field of heart care that uses minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat heart and vascular conditions. Unlike traditional heart surgeries that require large incisions in your chest, interventional procedures can be performed through small incisions in your groin or wrist using a small tube called a catheter. Interventional cardiologists work in specialized examination rooms known as cardiac catheterization (cath) labs.

Imaging and radiology

Advanced imaging technology provides clearer pictures for radiologists and other specialty physicians on the medical staff to provide a more accurate diagnosis that leads to a customized treatment plan, if needed, to start the healing process.

Inpatient medicine and hospitalists

Our hospitalists or inpatient medicine physicians provide care during your full stay at the hospital starting upon your hospital admission and coordinate with your primary care physician and helps with your discharge.

Mammogram and breast imaging

Our imaging centers provide potentially life-saving 2D and 3D mammograms and clinical breast exams to screen for breast cancer and other conditions that impact women and refer to specialty treatments and services, including:

The Baylor Scott & White Pharmacy #203 is an outpatient/retail pharmacy located on the first floor of the medical center.  The pharmacy is open to the general public, and accepts most major insurances.
