As a cancer program, our
awards and accreditations truly set us apart—both in Collin County and in Texas.
Our Accreditation with Commendation by the
Commission on Cancer demonstrates that we are committed to offering every significant advantage in your battle against cancer.
When it comes to fighting cancer, experience makes a big difference in survival. Here, colorectal surgeons treat colon cancer, thoracic surgeons treat lung cancer and so on. Additionally, we:
- Treat more head and neck cancers than anyone in the metroplex
- Have pulmonology and gastroenterology groups that are among the largest in the metroplex
- Have regular tumor board meetings to review difficult cases and recommend treatment
- Have oncology-certified nurses
At Baylor Scott & White – Plano, we employ advanced technologies to help detect and treat cancer. These include the:
Spyglass® Direct Visualization System, a tiny catheter-guided camera that provides precise images for an accurate diagnosis of GI cancers
da Vinci® S Surgical System, a robotic, camera-guided technology that increases precision for delicate or complex surgeries for prostate, gynecologic or colon cancer
MammoSite, a short-term, high-dose localized radiation that allows breast cancer patients to get back to their lives more quickly
superDimension® lung navigation, a minimally invasive technology that uses GPS-like navigation to reach deep into the lungs for biopsy
ATS, or video-assisted thoracic surgery, a minimally invasive, camera-guided tool for lung tumor removal
Even though we treat hundreds of cancer patients, we are always mindful of this fact:
You are the most important patient we have right now.
Today, everyone seems to emphasize personal care, but we actually deliver it. From pairing you with a cancer survivor for support to using your own cancer cells to personalize chemotherapy in clinical trials, we don’t just care for you. We care about you.
Having Cancer is Challenging Enough
