Pediatric mental health is a specialty that treats children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional and psychiatric disorders. The Central Texas pediatric mental health team includes child psychiatrists, psychologists and professional counselors.

Our doctors and counselors see patients at our outpatient clinic and care for children with mental health issues while staying at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's hospital in Temple.

We offer individual and family counseling as appropriate. Psychiatric, psychosocial, and neuropsychological evaluations are available.

Depression

Although it is mainly considered a disorder that affects adults, children can also suffer from depression.

Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)

Children with ODD are often hostile to authority figures. This disorder is more common in boys.

Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) 

Children with ADHD can show a spectrum of symptoms, including inattentiveness, overactivity, and impulsiveness. Our mental health specialists are trained in providing behavioral and other treatments.
