Each year during annual enrollment you will have an opportunity to make changes to your benefits. Outside of that, there are certain life events that may also allow you to make changes. These are known as qualifying life events. Review the checklist below to understand what actions you should take if you experience a life event.

The basics

If you get married or divorced, have a baby or experience another qualifying life event, you can update your BSW benefits coverage to reflect your new situation.

But keep in mind, you must take action within 31 days of the event. Once you make changes, they are effective immediately. For a complete list of qualifying life events, view our Summary Plan Description.
