Benefits enrollment

Whether you're a new hire, newly eligible due to a change in position or scheduled hours, experiencing a qualifying life event, or reviewing your coverage during Annual Enrollment, you'll find the tools and resources you need to understand your options and choose benefits that support you and your family.

Benefits enrollment can occur when you:

  • Begin employment as a new team member
  • Become newly eligible based on your position or hours worked (time-sensitive changes must be made within 31 days)
  • Experience a qualifying life event (QLE), such as marriage, birth, adoption or loss of other coverage (time-sensitive changes must be made within 31 days of the event)
  • Participate in Annual Enrollment, which occurs each fall

If you're hired or newly eligible for benefits between Oct. 26, 2026, and Dec. 31, 2026, you'll need to complete enrollment for both your 2026 and 2027 benefits.

As you compare your options, keep in mind that the main differences are the provider networks and how the deductibles, copays and coinsurance may impact your out-of-pocket costs.

Dental plans

Each of the plans offers preventive care coverage at 100%.

  • Choice Plan: Any dentist; lower costs if you stay in-network; implants/orthodontia not covered
  • Choice Plus Plan: Any dentist; lower cost if you stay in-network; implants/orthodontia covered
  • DHMO Plan: In-network only; must choose a general dentist; implants/orthodontia covered

Vision plans

BSW offers one vision plan that includes coverage for annual eye exams, glasses and contact lenses, plus discounts on laser vision correction.

Eligibility at a glance

You’re eligible for Baylor Scott & White benefits if you’re regularly scheduled to work:

  • At least 30 hours per week as a full-time employee
  • 20–29 hours per week as a part-time employee

Coverage begins on your first day of employment. You have 31 days to enroll after your hire date or after moving into a benefits-eligible position.

Benefits include:

1Part-time employees (1–19 hours per week) and PRNs are eligible to participate in these benefits.

2PRNs aren't eligible for this benefit.

You can enroll:

  • Your spouse or common-law spouse
  • Your children up to age 26, including stepchildren, legally adopted children and foster children

You’ll be asked to provide documents confirming your dependents’ eligibility. Submit all required documentation by the deadline to keep them covered.
