​​​​Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – McKinney is a full-service, fully-accredited not-for-profit hospital serving residents in McKinney and the surrounding communities. Baylor Scott & White – McKinney is focused on being the best place to give and receive safe, quality, compassionate health care. The 143-bed hospital offers advanced medical services for women’s services, neonatal intensive care, orthopedics, heart and vascular, neurosciences, stroke, diagnostic imaging, intensive and emergency care.

Founded as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Scott & White Health exists to serve all people through exemplary health care, education, research and community service. Our History

Baylor Scott & White – McKinney opened in July 2012 to serve the health care needs of families in McKinney and the surrounding communities. As a result of your positive response, we are continuing to grow. We have expanded our Emergency Department, adding 12 beds and doubling the existing space. We have also built out the fifth floor to add 48 more inpatient beds. In 2016, a second physician office building was added to the campus as well as additional parking. Baylor Scott & White Health has long been known for our quality, compassionate health care, and we are proud to be partnering with you to grow a healthier community.

Located at the northwest corner of Highway 380 and Lake Forest Drive, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – McKinney is a full-service hospital and surrounding medical office campus dedicated to providing the residents of McKinney and surrounding communities with quality health care.

Melissa Winter, DNP, MSN, RN, NEA-BC

Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer

Melissa Winter, DNP, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, was appointed chief nursing officer and chief operating officer (CNO/COO) of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – McKinney in summer 2011.

As CNO/COO, Winter is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating nursing and ancillary services to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, efficient and compassionate care. Before joining Baylor Scott & White – McKinney, Winter served as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer for The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. During her tenure, Winter helped launch an advanced hospital that is consistently ranked in the top one percent nationally in patient satisfaction.

The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano received the American Nurses Credentialing Center Pathway to Excellence designation in 2009 and Magnet® designation in 2011. Winter was listed among the Great 100 Nurses in Dallas/Fort Worth in 2009 and received the Dallas/Fort Worth Hospital Council’s Young Healthcare Executives of the Year award in 2010. 

Winter is a graduate of West Texas A&M University where she earned a bachelor’s in nursing and a master’s in nursing administration. She received her doctorate in nursing practice in December 2014.
